The Material Lab
The Material Lab, located at FEV’s new Benchmarking Center in Aachen, Germany, is a center of excellence for cross-functional topics from the materials and mobility industries. It is a place where material “seeds” meet automotive “needs.” Through our Material Lab, we offer various services to support your business’ growth. These services can be booked individually or via memberships that provide access to different service packages. Our Material Lab members benefit from exclusive offers and special rates. Currently, we are offering four distinct services at our Material Lab.
Joint on-site technical workshops
Our technical workshops include demonstrations of state-of-the-art technologies and vehicle components at FEV’s Benchmarking Center as well as keynote presentations and joint discussions with FEV benchmarking, engineering, and cost experts from various mobility disciplines. Through the workshops, you can broaden your understanding of mobility technologies and trends, gain insights into the current design and materials of different vehicle components, exchange with experts directly involved in development projects with your target customers, and develop ideas for your next growth drivers.
Display of materials at the Benchmarking Center as pre-sales support
FEV’s Benchmarking Center is frequently visited by leading European and global automotive OEMs and Tier-1s. Among these visitors are key decision-makers from design and development departments responsible for material selection. In addition, FEV engineers, who are directly involved in automotive development projects, are often present. This makes the Benchmarking Center an ideal venue to showcase your material innovations. To facilitate this, we have established the Material Lab, where material samples are prominently displayed. Target customers can directly connect with the relevant suppliers via QR codes placed next to the samples.
Product presentations at the Advanced Materials Summit
Every year, we host the Advanced Materials Summit at our Benchmarking Center. This event provides material suppliers with a platform to present their latest innovations to leading automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. Simultaneously, it offers OEMs and Tier-1s the opportunity to discover their next innovation drivers. As an attendee, you can get valuable feedback from your target customers and participate in discussions to stay abreast of the latest trends in the materials industry.
